Apple used to allow distribution of Apple updates through User Groups. At some point though they stopped, and user groups that used to send public domain software via CD to their subscribers with Apple updates, no longer do.

Apple could allow it again. Furthermore, it would be nice if their support line offered CDs of downloadable updates. If you think these are good ideas, Apple does have a Management Feedback link in the pull down menu on http://www.apple.com/contact/feedback.html where it says Broken Link.

What is nice is that those who were affected by the MobileMe fiasco are now getting MobileMe a year for free.

And I think the rest of us deserve at least three months — one is just not enough considering the problems.
