Regarding 11/12/09 show, additional Vonage comments

    Hi Gene,
    Just listen to your most recent show with David. As always, it was excellent.

    Regarding Vonage, here's what I considered some "gotchas" that many subscribers may not be aware of.

    If you cancel service, and your initial trial period has lapsed and your subscription is less than a year, Vonage will charge you the manufacturer's retail price of their router, and may not allow you to return it for any reason.

    Vonage also charges an additional $39.99 disconnect fee that can only be waived if certain requirements are met. More information can be found at the following link: Vonage - Support - Customer Service

    It's seems some VoIP providers are no better with sneaky termination fees than the cell carriers. :mad:

    Yes, one of the unfortunate aspects of Vonage that forces customers to stay with them even after they find it unproductive. :(
